1973 Grampian 26 "Sandpiper" is Sold
The G26 was designed to
be a comfortable family cruiser and is one of the more spacious boats
available in this size.
Features of
the Grampian 26:
- The G26 was designed to be a roomy cruiser. Even
so, lots of club racing is done in them.
- The cockpit is quite large and spacious. Tiller
steering and
mainsheet attachment at the transom keep the cockpit uncluttered.
- The G26 is a quite stiff and seaworthy sailboat.
People have sailed them across the Atlantic.
- They were built with a solid (rather than cored) fiberglass
hull, providing great strength. Grampian didn't build flashy
boats, but they certainly built tough, seaworthy ones.
Specifications:
- Length over all: 26'
- Beam: 8' 4"
- Draft 4' 3", fixed keel
- Displacement: 5600 lbs
